Nourish Your Soul

Advocating for children can be stressful. From asking for the proper teaching and learning materials to fighting for classroom computers, teachers continue to advocate for children. We fight for children despite the repercussions and the negative media coverage. During these dark times it can be difficult for us to find the strength to fight. Yes, we do also need to be more proactive about getting involved in the decision making of laws and bills that affect us, but we also need to nourish our souls so that we have the strength to do the job. When I am faced with an obstacle that seems beyond impossible to overcome I look to spiritual guidance as well as friends that give me encouraging words to keep advocating for children and for my profession. Many old scriptures and heroes such Mother Teresa, Dr. King and Einstein help to keep me focused and motivated. Look for wise words that have survived the test of time as they will do the same for you.

So from where do you gather wisdom and inspiration to nourish soul?
